Colour and Contour

This was a fun card to CaSE. It's from page 98 of the Annual Catalogue. There aren't many layers or embellishments, just "layers" of delicate sponging to highlight the stamped flowers.

This is the Color & Contour stamp set, and co-ordinating dies. I used the Blending Brushes to add the sponged detail in Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent. I used Stampin' Blends to colour the centre of each flower and also used Wink of Stella over the top, for some subtle shimmer.

Lovely You

This is a CaSE of the card on page 36 of the catalogue. I only changed a few things, to make it my own. Next time you're feeling uninspired, grab the catalogue - it's full of ideas!

Gingerbread & Peppermint

I can't believe we are only a month away from Christmas Day and this is the first Christmas card I've posted this year. I think that just about sums up this year... so many months were swallowed up by COVID lockdown that I feel like it should only be September. So, as a result I'm hopelessly disorganised, have barely made any Christmas cards, have done no Christmas shopping, and am starting to panic!

Making this card was just like playing with stickers. There's no stamping at all, just some Designer Series Paper backgrounds (from Gingerbread & Peppermint and In Good Taste) and then I arranged my fun cookie-baking scene on top, using elements from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories and More card pack. So much fun! And so quick and easy.

Flowers of Friendship

I love a stamp set and punch bundle! They always make for quick and easy cards. In this case, the Flowers & Leaves punch is a builder punch, so it punches out the 2 flowers and 2 leaves as well, in one single punch! When I'm making a few cards at a time, I always take the time to line up my stamps on one block so I can punch all the images out at once. (Click here to watch a video if you don't know how)

I made a batch of these for some customer thank you cards. I used 4 of the 5 most recent In Colors on this one, but I made some monochromatic ones too.

This card was CaSEd from a card by Mary Fish. I love her simple but classy style.

Birthday Expressions

Just a quick one from me today. We are in the middle of crazy birthday month in our house. In November we have a ton of family birthdays, and this year a couple of 'big' milestone birthdays too. First was Dave's 50th, then his Mum's 85th, next will be my twin niece's 13th and then Jacob's 21st. It's fun but also somewhat exhausting!! At least lockdown has lifted now and we are able to celebrate them all.

With all those birthdays, I needed some quick, any-age, any-gender cards that still looked a bit special. Expressions in Ink DSP to the rescue! (again!). I made these in a mixture of colours from the DSP, using the pieces with gold running through them. I added more gold, by embossing the word 'happy' and also adding some gold trim.

The Biggest Wish stamp set is perfect when you want to make a big impact!

Floral Congratulations

I love a white background...it really makes a card feel so fresh and bright. Here I've just added a pop of Fresh Freesia and a little splash of Soft Succulent. This is the Color & Contour stamp set. I must confess that I bought the Color & Contour Bundle primarily for the dies, and the stamp set was just a nice bonus. But now I find myself using it a lot! It's great because it's a 2-step stamp set, so you have an outline image and a 'fill-in' image. You can stamp the outline and add your own colour, using your favourite colouring tool, or just grab the co-ordinating 'fill-in' stamp and it's super quick and easy

I thought this would make a nice wedding or engagement card. You can see everything else I've used listed below.

Artistic Flowers

Sometimes I use lots of stamps to make cards, and other times almost none. In this case, it's the latter. I've used 2 dies and an embossing folder to make this card. I gave the Artistic Die a light sponging of colour, and the only stamping is the sentiment (from Timeless Tulips). The Painted Texture embossing folder gives the background a little extra something, so it's not as plain.

I also added some white crinkled ribbon, tied in a bow. You can see everything I used listed below.

Puffin Birthday

I think this little guy is Puffin' out the candles! Ha ha, see what I did there?

I just love making cards with the Party Puffins stamp set. They just make me smile. 

I'm not always drawn to bright colours, but these guys seem to work so well with a pop of colour. So, here is the Pattern Party DSP again, with a stripey rainbow! The main panel is Coastal Cabana, stamped with a smattering of candles.

Peachy Thanks

I have a peachy thank you card to share with you today. Sometimes just popping a belly band on a jaunty angle is all that it takes to create a point of difference. I think it really lifts this design.

I inked up the peach stamps in Pale Papaya and added a peachy glow by sponging some Calypso Coral ink directly on to the rubber before stamping.

When I'm not sure whether to add a bow or not, I often opt for twine. It's not as heavy as ribbon but still adds a little something extra.
