CCMC644 Old and New

Happy New Year's Eve! It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with: 

As befits New Year, I'm using a bit of something old and a bit of something new on my card this week. For the 'old' we have the retiring Snowflake Splendor Designer Series paper, but I've made it new with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder (in the upcoming Mini). You'll be seeing a lot more of this one! I love the painterly texture.

I've popped on a dragonfly, from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set (from the Upcoming Mini), and I've dressed him up with some Silver Metallic Mesh ribbon (retiring). I also added some Elegant Faceted gems and painted his wings with Blends and a coat of Wink of Stella.

Dandy Garden

I think this is my favourite card that I've made so far with the Dragonfly Garden stamp set. I really like the effect of stamping on DSP and colouring in. I'm not usually much of a yellow girl, but Bumblebee is such a lovely warm shade that kinda makes me happy. 

I love this bit between Christmas and New Year. I always do a jigsaw puzzle, eat leftovers and forget what day of the week it is....bliss!

Warm Wishes for a Happy Christmas

Merry Christmas! However you are able to celebrate this year, I hope your Festive Season is full of peace, love and joy. Let's hope 2021 has some smoother sailing ahead!

I managed to send out 200 of these cards this year. I'm hoping that some of them might have even made it to their destination before Christmas! I was definitely under the pump and cut it a bit fine this year. In fact, I wouldn't have got them made at all without the help of some very dear friends. The design is very simple, and I used most of the patterns in the Poinsettia Place DSP. Here are some of the other designs:

I used Soft Sea Foam (one of my faves) as my card base, and the Stamparatus came in very handy for stamping the sentiment.

Simple Season

I love it when things come together well - I've only put 4 things on this card, but I think they work together perfectly. Hard to believe it's just 2 die-cuts, a piece of patterned paper and a stamped sentiment. Sometimes simple is best!

Ornamental Blues

I do love Pool Party and White for Christmas. I can't let a Christmas go by without making at least one card in this colour scheme. The Ornamental Envelopes stamp set works beautifully in these colours. I was tempted to add some silver or some bling, but in the end I left it plain.

Holly, Jolly Everything

I'm going to miss these little gnomes! They are such fun to play with. I created a little scene for this card. It was so relaxing to colour it in and bring it to life. Of course there are a million other things I should be doing right now....I haven't even wrapped a single present!

CCMC643 Joy to the World

I think one of the best and most versatile Christmas stamp sets in our Store is actually not in any Catalogue....it's the Joy to the World Paper Pumpkin stamp set. I think of it as a $37 stamp set with a card kit thrown in for free!

CCMC642 A Merry Hello

I decided that the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper was perfect for these colours, and I had fun playing with a cute Christmas stamp set for this week's challenge.

This adorable image and sentiment is from the A Merry Hello Stamp Set. This is a host stamp set that is only available with Stampin’ Rewards (any group or individual order of $250 or more). It's a 2-Step Stampin’ set; it allows you to layer two or more images to create one final image with extra texture and dimension in the colours you want. For this card, I decided to colour my image with Blends instead - one of the things I like about 2-step sets is you have both options available, either quick stamping or relaxing colouring!

I used my new copy of the January-June Mini Catalogue for sketch inspiration, and I've taken this layout from a card on page 8.

Another Sneak Peak

I've been playing with the Dragonfly Garden stamp set again, but this time without dragonflies... I've used the pretty 'garden' element instead. This image only needs a touch of colour to make it 'pop'. I stamped in Mossy Meadow and applied some colour using ink and a Blender Pen.

This colour scheme is Mossy Meadow and Bumblebee, and I've chosen papers from the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper pack to match.

CCMC641 Warm and Toasty

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.

This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I love this Warm and Toasty stamp set. The cute images just bring a smile to my face every time I use them. This little reindeer is so sweet. I coloured him with my Blends and cut him out, and popped him on a Stitched Shapes Circle

If you're after some Christmas DSP in classic Christmas colours and designs, then take a look at 'Tis the Season. It's 6x6 size, so it's perfect for cardmaking, and it's so versatile and easy to use. I even snipped the holly sprig from the paper as a little extra embellishment. The colours are Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Basic Black and Whisper White.

I popped on a few clear Elegant Faceted Gems, in keeping with the sketch.

Dragonflies Sneak Peek

I have a sneak peek for you today, of a stamp set that will feature in our upcoming January-June Mini Catalogue. Ordering for this catalogue begins January 5, and Sale-a-Bration starts then too. However, Demonstrators can now pre-order from this catalogue, so you'll start seeing lots of lovely new products around the place!

This stamp set is called Dragonfly Garden and the co-ordinating paper is called Dandy Garden. There is also a co-ordinating Dragonflies Punch, that punches out dragonflies in 2 sizes.

I've been loving Misty Moonlight lately, so I'm glad that we have another Designer Series Paper that includes this colour!

Gnome for Christmas

I've been having fun colouring in these cute gnomes (from Gnome for the Holidays) and popping them on some simple cards. They are just so cute! 

I used the 'Tis the Season Designer Series Paper for these ones, but I definitely want to try some other papers and colour schemes too...stay tuned for more gnomes at a later date!
