Party Pop-Up Shaker Card

Not just for pop-ups! The Balloon Pop-Up thinlits dies also make great shaker cards. Just trim your panel to size and cut out the balloon die from the centre. I stamped and decorated mine using the co-ordinating dies and stamp set.
To create the shaker, adhere a piece of acetate behind and use the foam adhesive strips to frame the shaker area. Fill it with sequins and confetti shapes, peel off the tape backing and secure a piece of DSP over the top.
Then, simply attach it to a card base and you're done!

Party Animal 16th Birthday

I made this card a little while ago for Jacob's 16th birthday, back when I first got my hands on some of the new goodies. The Party Animal Suite of products is perfect for boys. There's hardly any stamping on the front of my card, just the strip of 'Happy Birthday's (this is a photopolymer stamp set, so stamping this strip was easy).
I cut my number 16 from Pacific Point cardstock and used the Fine tip glue pen to make it shiny (the glue dries clear and shiny in just an hour or so).
Inside is the wow:

These balloon pop-up thinlits are so easy to use. The balloons also co-ordinate with the balloon punch, which is a nice bonus!

Paper Succulent Pot

You might be wondering why I'm featuring plants on my papercraft blog...well it's because this delightful pot of succulents is actually all made from paper! It's quite astonishing how real these look.
I had such fun making these and they actually didn't take much time at all...which is just as well because I'm a bit hooked now, and will definitely be making more!
I cut these out of plain cardstock using the Succulent dies and then sponged the edges and curled them with a bone folder. I've popped them into a peat pot with some coconut fibre, and hot-glued them into place.
I used various colours of ink on these - Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Rich Razzleberry, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler and Cajun Craze.

Here's a closer look:

What do you think? Do they look real to you?

Carried Away...for Free!

Here's a simple-but-effective design that could easily be replicated using any Designer Series Paper and co-ordionating stamp set. I've used the Sale-a-Bration paper Carried Away (available free with a $90 purchase until March 31) and co-ordinating Lift Me Up stamp set (from the Occasions Catalogue).
You might have spotted the Stitched Shapes framelits on this card. Good news! After being sold out for the last couple of months, these are now available to order :)

Dragonfly Sparkle

I love the dreamy quality of this card. I've used the pretty pink bokeh effect paper from the Falling in Love DSP, and accentuated the bokeh effect around the edges using the stamp from Dragonfly Dreams.
A strip of the semi-transparent glassine paper anchors my sentiment, without being too dominating.
The dragonflies are all sparkly, having been cut from Glimmer paper, and there is also sparkle on the words, applied with a bit of fine tip glue and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
