Last Thoughtful Branches
I have one last Thoughtful Branches card to show you, before the month is over and the set isn't available anymore (*sob*).
The sentiment on this card takes me back to when Jacob was about 6. He was making a card for his friend's birthday and he came and asked me "Mum, how do you spell 'appreciate'?". Curious about what he was writing in the card, I said "Why, what do you want to say". He responded with this gem:
"Dear Cameron, I made you this card. I hope you appreciate it"
Out of the mouths of babes! ...although sometimes I wish I had a stamp that said just that!!
The colours I've used on this card are Emerald Envy, Real Red and Early Espresso.

Snappy Birthday!
Here's my final Hostess set card.... although, I still have a couple of Hostess sets on my shelves that are yet to see ink, so I'll have to make use of them soon!
This stamp set is called Pun Intended, and it has some really fun images and matching 'punny' sayings. I laughed out loud when I saw the lightbulb with "I love you a WATT" and "Sorry I'm not too bright"...I'm sure I can find a use for that one!
Here I've used the camera and 'Snappy Birthday' greeting. I was looking through my stamps for a suitable starburst for a flash, and the one from Kinda Eclectic is perfect. That dictated my Crushed Curry, black and white colour scheme. This paper from the Festive Birthday pack co-ordinates perfectly too. I love it when the stars (or suns) align like that!
I've used the Fine Tip glue and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the flash too:

Love You Lots Hedgehogs
Here's another Hostess set creation, this time using the oh-so-cute Love you Lots stamp set.
These little hedgehogs are my favourite stamps in the set.
I've used Peekaboo Peach as my main colour on this card, and the stripes are courtesy of the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper (it has more than just fruit!). I love the pom-pom trim as a whimsical touch. Rather than wrapping my ribbon all the way around my card, I just punched 2 holes and threaded it though.

Gift of Love
Next weekend is Stamp Camp time, so I've been pretty busy getting ready for lots of fun with my team. I can't wait!
I do have time to squeeze in a few blog posts though :) This week I thought I would show you some creations I have made using the Hostess sets.
In every catalogue, there is a 'Hostess' section. The stamps in this section can't be bought outright, but they can be earned by placing an individual or group order of $250 or more. It is well worth saving your pennies, as there are some beautiful stamps in this section!
This particular card is made using the Gift of Love stamp set. I've stamped the image in black Stazon on Watercolour Paper, and coloured it using inks and aquapainter. The colours I've used are Mint Macaron and Dapper Denim.

Thoughtful Branches for Autumn
I'm still having fun playing with Thoughtful Branches. I made this card during a stamp day I had with my team a couple of weeks ago. I used the Marker 'thumping' technique to get the multicoloured look on the leaves. I inked up the stamp in Sahara Sand first, and then used the brush end of my marker like a drum stick, to tap randomly all over the stamp in a few different colours (I used Cajun Craze, Soft Suede and Delightful Dijon). You get a lovely speckled look, perfect for autumn leaves.
The lovely textural paper in the background is from the Serene Scenery pack.

Flourishing Phrases for Christmas
I love showing the versatility of stamps by using a non-Christmas set for Christmas cards. This is the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. The swirls make pretty Christmas branches and the flowers look quite poinsettia-ish, don't you think? I've used Embellished Ornaments for my sentiments and also for the hanging ornament. The actual ornaments were too large for my card, so I simply punched a circular ornament from the middle of the stamped image.
As soon as I saw our new In Color Emerald Envy, I knew it would be the perfect Christmas green. I've paired it with Real Red here, and a splash of gold.
