Happy Day Medallions

Sometimes all you need is one pretty stamp, and a few of your favourite colours. That's all I used to make this card:

The medallion stamp is from the Happy Day stamp set, and the favourite colours are Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo. I've punched out a couple of circles, and mounted them on dimensionals. A bit of Rhinestone bling jazzes up this otherwise very simple card.

Hexagon Sweater Weather

This is the card I made for a ShoeBox Swap at the Stamp Camp I held recently, using the Hexagon Punch and the "Sweater Weather" DSP from the Holiday Catalogue:

I love these colours together - Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand and Crushed Curry.
As well as using the Hexagon Punch to punch out all the hexagons, I also used it to make the "V" shape for the banner.
The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen, one of my most-used word sets. A bit of Gorgeous Grunge on here too, and some Natural Trim ribbon (yes, it's meant to be frayed!)

The inspiration for this card came from this lovely card by the very talented Nancy Riley. Thanks Nancy! Nancy also CaSEd her card from another stamper....I love how that happens. It's a bit like a game of Chinese Whispers, where the end result is nothing like what it started as :o)

Baby Tee Hung Up

It's school holidays here and I'm so looking forward to a couple of weeks of break from routine...it's just what we all need after a busy term.
Friends of ours recently had their first baby, and this is the card I made for the new arrival:

I've cut out one of the little onesies from the Baby Tees Wheel, and hung it on a "Cute Clip" coathanger paperclip.

I think all new babies (and their parents!) are stars, so I've stamped some Simply Stars in the background. I've used Pear Pizzazz Core'dinations cardstock with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder, and then sanded it lightly to reveal the lighter core colour.

The colours I've used are Midnight Muse, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sky.

Washi Butterfly

Here's a quick, clean and simple card using my favourite Washi Tape "Gingham Garden" (although I think the new Christmas Washi Tape is going to give it a run for it's money!)

To get this look, just run some diagonal stripes of Washi Tape on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, and then punch or die-cut any shape you like. I've used the Beautiful Butterflies die to make my butterfly shape.
I just ran some Whisper White Baker's Twine around the middle of the butterfly, and finished off with a Vintage Faceted button.

Washi Shaker Card

Choosing just one card to showcase Washi Tape in my Technique Class proved to be a very difficult task! I had to settle on showing a whole swag of samples featuring washi tape, and then we made this Washi Tape Shaker card:

We made a little vellum pouch, by placing 2 pieces of vellum together and taping up 3 sides. We then filled it with punched confetti and a dash of Glass Glitter, before taping up the top. You can also make your pouch with a piece of cardstock as the backing, and use a piece of window sheet instead of vellum if you want a more see-through look.
I've used the Birthday Basics DSP on this card - love that balloon pattern! And another matching envelope, using the Envelope Liners Framelits.
The stamp set is Sketched Birthday. I've used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch and the Bitty Banners framelits to cut out the images.

Lace Tape Technique

Last week's Technique Class was "Tape Tricks" using Lace Tape and Washi Tape.
Here's the card we made using the Lace Tape, inspired by a gorgeous swap I received from my equally gorgeous friend Michele. I was so excited to meet up with Michele on my recent trip to the US. We'd been online friends for years, and it was such a buzz to meet in person...one of the highlights of my trip, for sure!

We used the Lace Tape as a stencil, and sponged the delicate pattern on to the card with Crumb Cake ink. I've taken the colours for this card from the Birthday Basics DSP.
Not much stamping on here, but I did use the pretty frame stamp from Morning Post Numbers (in the Holiday Catalogue) that matches the Deco Label Framelits.
If you look closely, you might be able to spot the pretty matching envelope - we dressed up a plain vanilla envelope using the new Envelope Liner framelit (also in the Holiday Catalogue)

Soft Sky Wildflowers

A super quick and simple card from me today, using the Wildflower Meadow stamp again, and the very pretty colour Soft Sky. I inked up the stamp in Soft Sky and just highlighted the flower centres in Marina Mist. I gave the stamp a light spritz with water to blend the colours slightly, and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock.
The shape is from the Window Frames framelit collection, and I pierced around it using the Piercing templates. It adds extra interest without having to add a layer of cardstock.

Modern Medley meets Flower Shop

Here's my second stamp-a-stack design for this month. I've gone for a classic colour combination of black and vanilla, with just a splash of colour (Primrose Petals, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight).
I'm loving the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper....even if the chevron design does make my eyes go funny! Here I've used 2cm strips, made into a banner shape using my new BFF the Hexagon Punch.
If you haven't bought the Flower Shop set yet, make sure you buy the bundle with the matching punch. Not only will you save 15%, you will also save yourself a lot of angst, cutting out all those flowers! I bought the wood-mount bundle, and when I mounted each stamp, I marked a dot at the bottom of each stamp, so that I could easily line it up with the punch....that has saved me a lot of angst too!!
Aren't those greetings gorgeous? It's a new sentiment set of 4 greetings, named appropriately, Four You...love them all, and use them all the time.

Wetlands Stamp-a-Stack

I love designing cards when I have a whole bunch of new stamp sets to play with (new toys, yay!!). For this stamp-a-stack set I've used the Wetlands stamp set...one of my first picks from the new catalogue. I love the peaceful images, plus it has lots of potential for masculine cards, it can be watercoloured...or not, and the three sentiments are lovely too.
Blue and brown is always a favourite colour combination of mine. Here I've used Soft Sky and Baked Brown Sugar, along with Naturals White cardstock. I've just added some depth to the images by sponging in Soft Sky and Sahara Sand.
I've also used the Apothecary Accents framelits, 4 embossing folders and a touch of Gorgeous Grunge.

This set of cards was inspired by a gorgeous swap I got from the lovely and talented Leonie Schroder...thanks Leonie!

Pistachio Wildflowers

I'm loving the new In Color Pistachio Pudding at the moment...especially paired with crisp white. Here I've made a simple card using the Wildflower Meadow stamp set and matching embossing folder (make sure you check out the bundle on page 83 - the clear mount bundle for the stamp set and embossing folder is only $32.95!)

I've also used the framed tulip embossing folder and the oval framelits. A little tip here - cut the oval first, and then emboss, otherwise you will squish your tulips!

Grand Vacation Swap

It dawned on me the other day that I hadn't shown you all my swap card from the Utah Grand Vacation.
I must confess that I agonised a bit more than I usually do over this card....making a card worthy of swapping with top Demonstrators from around the world was a difficult task!
Here's the card I made:

I received some amazing creations in return.
I used the same technique that I used on this card. I stamped the flowers from Secret Garden in Whisper White ink, and then used the cut-out part of the corresponding framelit as a stencil, and sponged classic ink over the top. The colours I've used are Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Pistachio Pudding and Island Indigo.
