Leo's 2nd Birthday

Just a quick one from me today because I'm about to head off for my Stamp Camp. I've got a big weekend of fun planned for everyone...no cooking, no cleaning, just lots of crafting in good company! No surprise that it's one of my favourite weekends of the year!
We arrived home from the US just in time for my nephew Leo's 2nd birthday (with a swag of pressies!). Here's the card I made for my little star:

I've used the Simply Stars stamp set in Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Basic Grey and Crumb Cake. It's a very simple layout, spiced up with some Washi Tape, a splash of Gorgeous Grunge ink spatters, a Hardware Clip and a little bit of ribbon.

And here's the real star himself:

...giving himself a round of applause. He was so delighted when we all sang happy birthday to him, that we had to do it twice (well he was turning 2 after all!)

Wildflower Meadow Stamp-a-Stack

This was my second stamp-a-stack design for the month, using the Wildflower Meadow stamp and matching embossing folder, and 4 of the new In Colors:

Very simple cards, with the Wildflower Meadow background stamped in Versamark ink for a tone-on-tone effect. The matching embossing folder gives the image an extra 'pop' (literally!)
I've layered this image onto a darker tone of each colour too. Here are the colours I paired together: Pistachio Pudding - Wild Wasabi
Crisp Cantaloupe - Calypso Coral
Baked Brown Sugar - Soft Suede
Coastal Cabana - Bermuda Bay
The greetings are from Label Love, punched out with the Artisan Label punch (love this!)

Mosaic Madness Stamp-a-Stack

It's been all go here since I got back from the US. I thought I'd better do a blog post so you all didn't think I hadn't come back at all!

I had an absolutely fabulous time, as some of you may have gathered from my facebook updates. It really was the trip of a lifetime, and one that I'll remember for the rest of my life.

It was great to resume my classes last week (yes, I honestly mean that), and see all my regular ladies again. We kicked it off with a stamp-a-stack. This set of cards uses Mosaic Madness and Quatrefancy Designer Series Paper:

I know I've said it before, but co-ordinated products made creating these cards so easy. When you have matching stamps, punch, embossing folder and patterned paper, you absolutely can't go wrong. The sentiments I've used on these cards came from the Pennant Parade stamp set

Single Stamp with Soho

Don't you love cards that look much more complicated than they actually are? This one certainly fits the bill. That fancy-looking background is actually part of the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack. The feature panel contains words and images in one, so nothing else is needed. I used one of the Single Stamps called Woo Hoo! and inked it up in Sahara Sand first, and then sponged some Island Indigo and Summer Starfruit over the top.
The Naturals Trim finishes it off nicely...it's my go-to ribbon when I want a more masculine feel on a card.
