Honeycomb Happiness Trio

I loved Teneale's sketch for the Global Design Project, so I decided to play along....just a couple of weeks late!! I've used the Sale-a-Bration Honeycomb Happiness stamp set and Perfectly Artistic DSP (both available for free during Sale-a-Bration with a $90 purchase). I liked the sketch so much that I used it 3 times!
Instead of colouring these images, I've stamped them onto the Perfectly Artistic DSP (the soft, watercoloured side) and cut them out.

 

 

 

Which one is your favourite? Much as I love balloons and icecream, I must admit I have a soft spot for the chick. I've given these the Wink of Stella treatment too. It's hard to capture in photos...Can you see the sparkle?

Razzleberry Birthday Blooms

Another New Year creation, and another CaSE from the Occasions Catalogue.
This one doesn't 'bear' much resemblance to the original:

See what I did there? hahaha I crack myself up.
I felt like doing some watercolouring. I find it very amusing that the world has just discovered the therapeutic benefits of colouring in. We stampers have known about it for years! I'd much rather colour a card to give away than fill in a colouring book though.
I got a little carried away and my flower came out a little darker than I'd intended. It's had the Wink of Stella treatment and is all sparkly in real life. Fussy cutting is another activity that I find therapeutic (am I the only one??)
I've used a piece of Love Blossoms DSP for my background panel, softened with a patterned vellum overlay. The vellum stack is available for FREE with a $90 purchase during Sale-a-Bration.

Back to blogging!

It's a new year, I have new toys and I thought it was about time I got back to blogging.
Normally I'm very much a routine kind of person. It's how I live and how I get things done. In January, that all goes out the window, which is lovely, but also not very productive!!
I've been having lots of fun with my new toys from the Sale-a-Bration brochure and Occasions Catalogue. I've been designing cards for upcoming classes, but also making some cards just for fun.
I kicked off my card-making for the year with a CaSE. I always like to make use of the lovely samples in the catalogue. I took this clean and simple card on page 47:

 and made my own version:

I've added an extra piece of DSP to mine, to bring in an extra pop of colour, and used a different stamp set.
When I haven't created for a while, I like to start off simple and work my way into it. It feels good to have one 'under the belt' and gives me confidence to tackle something more elaborate.
