CCMC533 Boo!

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.

This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

 

These colours just screamed Halloween to me..."screamed"...see what I did there? So, bad jokes aside, I went with it and pulled out my Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper. I went to town, snipping 3 hats, plus a spider, a frog and a cat.

 

I made my creatures all peek-a-boo from behind the hats. and stamped a very appropriate "boo" sentiment (from the Warm Hearted Hostess set). I couldn't decide what colour to stamp it in, so I used my markers to do all 3 colours. The background stamps are from the same stamp set.

 

I added a strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, and ran it through the Big Shot with the Corrugated Embossing Folder.

CCMC528 Toil and Trouble

 

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I've never really celebrated Halloween, but when I see all the really cute Halloween products that Stampin' Up! come out with, I kinda wish I did! Designer Series Paper is a great way to play with a product suite without having to fully commit to stamps. This card is made almost entirely from The Toil and Trouble DSP.

I snipped out some images - a witch, a cauldron, a cat and a frog. I have a sneaking suspicion that sweet-looking witch has recipe plans for that frog! ...Hopefully the cat is safe, though.
The only stamping is the sentiment (from Itty Bitty Greetings) that I've punched out with the Classic Label Punch.

CCMC476 Spooky Cats

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I really like this sketch. I use circles a lot on my cards and the angled strip is just something a bit different.
I don't make a lot of Halloween cards, but I couldn't resist the new Spooky Night Designer Series Paper, Spooky Cat stamp set and co-ordinating cat punch

• I used the Stitched Shapes framelits to make my circle element. I love the extra detail that the stitching adds
• The colour scheme is taken directly from the Spooky Night patterned paper - Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla
• I've punched one cat from the paper, and stamped one with the stamp set and then punched. The little rat is also from the stamp set, as are the words.

Happy Birthday to Boooo!

I know I'm a bit late for Halloween, but I actually made this card as a birthday card, using the Ghoulish Googlies stamp set:

This little witchy-gal is too cute to only come out once a year! I love that this Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper can be used all year too :o)

Graveyard Ghouls

I couldn't resist buying the Ghoulish Googlies Bundle in the Holiday Catalogue. Only $30.95 for a set of 6 stamps, plus 20 tags, 10 glassine bags, 50 googly eyes and some twine...Bargain! I'm so glad I didn't resist, because I've had so much fun playing with it all. This was the first card I made with the set:

 

I used my brayer to create a spooky Rich Razzleberry sky, and created a Graveyard scene using the stamp set and a couple of punches to make gravestones. These guys are just too cute to be spooky!
