Happy Birthday Miles!

Can you believe my little nephew Miles is 10 today?! He's not so little any more, but he still lets me hug him....sometimes!

It's always tricky making cards for tweens...especially boys!! I kept this one pretty no-fuss, with layers of blues (Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon and Secret Sea) and white embossing. This little dog is from the Along These Lines stamp set, which is perfect for making clean and simple cards. I've paired it with the Blooming Phrases stamp set.

I used some White Twine, some (retired) numbers dies and a few flat pearls for embellishment.

Happy Birthday Leo!

Can you believe my little nephew Leo is 14 today?! He's not so little any more, in fact he's quite a lot taller than me. He's not quite as tall as Jacob (6'3") yet, but I have a feeling it won't be long!

Prairie Grass Card Set

Here are the 3 cards I made using the Prairie Grass stamp set. I love the simplicity of the images in this stamp set. You can keep it very simple by using Designer Series Paper for a background, or be a little artistic and make your own background. On all 3 of these cards, I embellished with Linen Thread and a few Iridescent Foil Gems.

I had fun making these Prairie Grass cards. I'll definitely be making more!

Prairie Grass Thank You

I tried to resist buying the Prairie Grass stamp set, but it was no use. I kept seeing really lovely cards made using this set, and the simple silhouette style of the images really appealed to me. Life is pretty busy these days so a stamp set that is one-and-done is just what I need. All this stamp set needs is a background. You can create one yourself or find some suitable Designer Series Paper.

I used a large Clear Block and Stampin' Blends to make this background. I scribbled the Blends on the block (Summer Splash, Pool Party and Darling Duckling), spritzed with Isocol Alcohol and then pressed the block onto some Watercolour Paper. Once it had dried, I stamped the Prairie Grass images in Secret Sea, a lovely deep blue that's not as harsh as black. I embellished with Linen Thread and a few Iridescent Foil Gems, and popped it on a Basic Beige card base.
