Amy's Christmas Gifts

When Amy saw my Secret Santa gifts, she wanted to make some for her friends. They are the perfect size to pop a little bracelet and necklace inside for her 3 special friends. Here is her version, which she made with just a little guidance:

They have a decidedly girly touch, don't they? We decided that the reindeer must be Rudolph's daughter! The annoying part is that I actually prefer her version of the reindeer to my own. She's 14 and already as tall as I am, and now she's teaching me a thing or two about craft as well! Maybe I'll get her to run a class on making these ;o)

 

Kids Christmas Cards

With everything we've got going on at the moment, I was thinking that this might be a good year for Amy and Jacob to (block your ears as I'm about to utter cardmaking profanity) BUY their Christmas cards. *gasp!* I know!....Can you believe I even thought such a thing?? I must have been closer to insanity than I realised! Thankfully before I could damage my children's sensitive souls with such a suggestion, they started pestering me to let them make their cards. Of course I said yes, as if no other option had crossed my mind...

Amy came up with this idea for Build-a-Roo when she first saw it in the catalogue back in April, and has stored it away in her little brain all year:
She stamped Build-a-Roo, and omitted the end part of his tail, and she has drawn a Santa hat on there. She was tossing up whether to put presents or the joey in the pouch, and decided on the joey for cuteness factor. The roo and joey both have Rudolph-red noses too! She stamped a snowflake background using Snow Swirled and watercoloured all the roos using Watercolour Wonder Crayons. The greeting is from the Window Dressing Hostess set. Amy chose Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery for something a bit different!

Jacob is a big fan of the markers. He has used my Bold Brights markers more than me! Whenever he picks up a stamp he always wants to make it multicoloured. He chose to use Christmas Classics for his Christmas cards, which was a perfect choice for this marker-obsessed boy!

All of his cards had slightly different combinations of stamps on them, but they were all coloured with markers. Jacob went for traditional Christmas Real Red and Glorious Green for his cards, and a traditional greeting too!

I was very impressed that they made all of their cards in one sitting (about 20 cards each). It took them a couple of hours, but they kept on going, and wouldn't let me help either!

I made this card for my Grandmother's birthday in November. She is my grandmother but I call her Peri. I chose lots of purple colours because she likes purple and so do I. It is Lavender Lace and Almost Amethyst. The stamp set I used is called Petal Prints, and I chose the flower that looks like lavender. I stamped the outline bit and then the other part. Mum said it didn't matter if I didn't line it up perfectly. I stamped Birthday Wishes (from Sincere Salutations) in Elegant Eggplant ink. I wanted some purple ribbon, but there wasn't the colour I wanted, so Mum showed me how to make my own coloured ribbon by using White Taffeta ribbon and colouring it in with markers. I didn't want the ribbon to be just one colour, so I asked her if I could make it rainbow, and she said OK so I coloured one edge in Almost Amethyst, and then the middle in Lavender Lace and then the other edge in Elegant Eggplant. I think it looks pretty. Peri liked my card and I hope you do too (leave me some comments please!)
Mum says there are only 2 more days to buy the markers individually so you can make ribbon like this too.

A card by Amy!

I thought it was about time you all had a card by Amy. Amy made this a while ago for her Grandad's birthday. Here she is to tell you how she made it:

I chose these colours myself, by just picking out some that I thought would look good together. I got the Pumpkin Pie paper and stamped Big Pieces with the Pumpkin Pie ink pad. Then I stamped Little Pieces on to the blue paper with the Blue Bayou ink pad and stuck that to the Old Olive paper. I used a plastic template and a pencil to mark 4 circles for my eyelets, and then made 4 holes with the Cropadile. I even set the eyelets myself! Then I and stuck that to the Pumpkin Pie paper. Then I got Whisper White and Real Red paper and stuck them together. Then I stamped 'to my' and 'wonderful' on it, and got a big and little piece and stamped them on it too and stuck that to my card. I stamped the alphabet in all the colours, and punched out squares to spell 'Grandad'. I punched a Photo Corner to go in the corner, and popped it up using Dimensionals. I hope you like my card!

Another Card by Amy!

My special guest stamper (aka dear daughter Amy, age almost 11) has another card to show you. This was the beautiful Mother's Day card I was so lucky to receive. Amy wants to tell you how she made it!
I had to make 4 Mother's Day cards because I have a Mum, 2 grandmothers and 1 great-grandmother. Mum showed me a cool way to make 4 cards out of 1 piece of paper. First, I used the Colour Coach to choose some colours. I chose Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, and Almost Amethyst. I got a Whisper White A4 piece of cardstock and the 5 ink pads. Then I got a stamp set called 'Priceless' and I stamped my favourite stamps from the Priceless set all over the white cardstock. Then Mum cut my sheet into quarters. Then I got 2 A4 sheets of Regal Rose coloured card and Mum cut them in half lengthways. I folded them in half and we cut off most of the front part. I tied a different coloured piece of ribbon around each one (Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Apricot Appeal), but I did two blue ones because there were only 3 colours. I meant to give Mum one with a blue ribbon but I accidentally gave her a green! phew, It was her favourite colour. The last thing to do was stick it together and stamp Happy Mother's Day inside. I think they all liked their cards.

A Card by Amy!

This is a gorgeous card that my lovely daughter Amy (age almost 11) made today for her friend Clara. I'm going to let her tell you how she made it!

ok, first I got the stamp set called Polka Dots and Petals. Then I got some inkpads called Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery and Tempting Turquoise. I chose 2 of the colours using the Colour Coach (Tempting Turquoise and Cameo Coral) and then chose the other colour by picking some pretty ribbon. Mum got the cardstock for me and cut it up. I stamped a background with some of the stamps from Polka Dots and Petals and stamped them on to white cardstock. Then I used SNAIL to stick it onto the Tempting Turquoise Cardstock. Then I stuck the Certainly Celery ribbon on top of the white cardstock. Then I stuck it onto my Cameo Coral card. Then I punched out a Certainly Celery Scallop Circle and a Cameo Coral Circle. Then I stamped Happy Birthday in Tempting Turquoise ink and punched it out with another circle punch. I stamped a Certainly Celery flower in the middle. Then I stuck 3 dimensionals on the back of the Cameo Coral circle and stuck that to the scallop. Then I stuck that to the card. I hope Clara really likes my card!
