Asian Artistry

During the last school holidays, my team had a fun stamp day at Nikki's house. We decided to have a Shoebox Swap. These are a great way to get a few cards made, without having to put any thought into it. We all cam along with a Shoebox, and inside was a card, and all the ingredients to make it (pre-cut cardstock, stamps, inks, etc). We just kept swapping shoeboxes, until we had all made each of the cards. So, we arrived with bits of cardstock, and went home with completed cards! Plus, we chatted, had a delicious lunch and the kids played happily upstairs...all in all, a perfect day!

TIP: to get the darker area at the base of the stems, I sponged Soft Suede ink straight on to the rubber

TIP: I love this little trick with the Scallop Oval Punch - trim off the top and bottom of the Scallop Oval, and you have a perfect mat for the Word Window!

Materials (all Stampin' Up!)
stamps: Asian Artistry (Level 2 Hostess), Sanded Background, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
ink: Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Versamark
card: Kraft, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Ruby Red
other: Word Window, Scallop Oval, Ruby Red Marker, Cutter Kit, Mat Pack, Sponge Daubers, Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon

  1. Omgosh Marelle, that is such a neat idea to trim the scallop oval. I'm gonna be using that all the time now!

    Thanks for sharing.

  7. I really like that shoebox swap. Waht a great idea. Not that I have any downline, BUT I can think how it could be incorporated into a "experienced cardmakers" evening/afternoon. Also like the mat for the word window punch. Very clever!
