And now for something Completely Different...

We have Chickens! Well, I don't actually have this chicken stamp set, but my wonderful newest bestest friend Michele, sent me some stamped chicken images, because she knew how out of my comfort zone I would be with them! And, much as I threatened to send them back to Texas with their heads chopped off, I actually had a go at making a couple of cards with them. I won't say I'm completely sold on them, and I won't be rushing out to buy the set, but they were kinda fun to colour. And they do lend themselves to some different colour combinations. Look, no Certainly Celery!
The colours I've used here are Elegant Eggplant, Really Rust, Always Artichoke and Ruby Red. I've coloured the chook with my Watercolour Wonder Crayons. I love the grey from the neutrals sets to shadow around the edges (I finally bought the neutrals set because of this month's promotion)
So, what do you think of my chicken??

  1. I love it! Chickens don't really appeal to me either (too many stories from Jacqui!!) but you did a great job.

I have just gotten the neutrals and couldn't work out what to do with them, I love the effect the grey gives.

  2. I love the chicken. But I really love the colours you come up with. They look great together. Thanks for the tip about the grey crayon. I wondered what to do with it.

  8. Oh, Marelle, how lovely!!! I had no idea you'd actually take the challenge! I should say that your chicken looks MUCH better right there in Sydney instead of headless in Texas. You did a fabulous job... hmmmm... wonder what other creature I can send to you! ;) (Too bad SU! doesn't have a llama stamp.)
